Hello, my name is Parker Langley and I am currently in my senior year at John Overton High School. At school, we have four different pathways or academies. Information Technology, Engineering, Health Science, Music Performance and Event Marketing. I am in the Engineering Academy. My sophomore year I had my first Engineering class called Foundations of Technology. During this school year I built a water bottle rocket, a wooden bridge which we tested to see which could hold the most weight and a small wooden dragster we designed ourselves and raced other students at the end of the year. Junior year we focused more on drawing in a class called Technological Drawings. We did drawings on AutoCad and on paper, such as blueprints, using rulers and engineering scales. I am excited to see what my class, Advanced Design Applications, is going to teach me and all the projects I will complete.
Now, A little more about myself. I was born in Nashville in 1999 and have lived her ever since. I have four siblings, one of them is in his sophomore year at the University of Knoxville. The other three are in elementary and middle school. I love helping out anyone who needs help. I do a lot of community service with my church youth group. My mom is a stay at home mom and my dad works at Vanderbilt University. Neither of my parents went to college so its my goal to make them proud and do well in my four or more years of college.
